Frank Lampard handed Edouard Mendy blow after goalkeeper’s star performance for senegal.
Edouard Mendy is turning into one of the signings of the season for Chelsea after the fantastic start to life he has made at Stanford bridge.
After the disappointments of Kepa Arrizabalaga, the blues were always keen on bringing in a new goalkeeper, and Petr Cech was at the forefront of a search.
The blues brought in Mendy from Rennes on a five year deal and he has been more than impressive during his short time in West London.
In his eight games so far for the blues he has conceded just twice and has six clean sheets to his name already.
Lampard certainly seems to have find his man in goal, but next season he is going to lose the number one for a month.
During this week’s international break, Mendy was the key man for senegal as they qualified for the Africa cup of Nations in 2022.
The competition was scheduled to be held next year, however it was pushed back due to the ongoing corona virus pandemic.
